We have one of the largest homestaging warehouses in Auckland where we stock a vast selection of quality furniture, accessories and original art to suit modern or classic interiors. We do all the packing and unpacking, delivering and installing. We have a ten-year close association with a specialist furniture-moving company, familiar with our requirements and our products. They offer us a range of trucks to suit the scale of property.
Our stylists are up to date with all the current interior design, colour and textile trends. By working closely with a select number of quality importers who bring items into New Zealand on our behalf, we are able to combine special pieces with quality items from leading local manufacturers. To keep our stock fresh and on-trend we procure new accessories on a monthly basis. We own all of our furnishing items, including a large collection of art.
We customise the colour schemes of our furnishings and accessories to enhance the style and size of house. We play with the language of colour to highlight a feature or to play down an imperfection. We feature colour accents with accessories to glam up a muted colour scheme or to contrast bold wall colours with pale-toned furniture.
We’re experienced at optimising small spaces or odd-shaped rooms to create a perception of spaciousness. This involves carefully controlling the use of colour and the scale of furniture items, and accessorising with a small number of expertly positioned feature items. We’re equally adept at making large interior spaces or rooms with high ceilings into comfortable, desirable living areas.
Debbie has a passion for creating beautiful interiors that people will love and want to make their own. As director of Distinctive Homestaging, she works collaboratively with her highly skilled team of staging consultants to incorporate the right furniture, colours, art and accessories to showcase each home with emphasis on highlighting its best features and minimising any defects. Debbie has brought to the interiors business her many years of valuable experience working in the film industry and in business management. She is loving combining her business background and interest in interior design to deliver outstanding results for her customers. ‘We want our clients to be 110 per cent happy with their total experience of our service.’
Viv brings to Distinctive Homestaging her valuable background experience in advertising, property rental and home renovation project management. She has a strong interest in interiors and modern architecture, furniture and colour. Her design talent blends perfectly with her attention to detail. She brings a modern twist to interior styling which is particularly effective with new builds and apartments. Viv consistently achieves results that customers rave about and she enjoys working for a company that sets high standards and focuses on getting the details right.
Chris is known to the Distinctive team as ‘the cushion queen’ because of her avid interest in fabric and her talent for combining cushions and accessories in fresh and exciting ways. She is the former director of Distinctive Furniture Solutions, one of Auckland’s first homestaging companies. Chris began the business about 14 years ago. She loves styling interiors so much that she has remained working with the company as a staging and design consultant, bringing her extensive on-the-job experience, together with her natural eye for colour, soft furnishings and attention to detail. Chris has been influential in ensuring that Distinctive Homestaging has a unique range of cushions not seen elsewhere in the industry. Chris’ original background was in nursing and her warm and empathetic manner immediately puts our clients at ease.
Clare is passionate about interiors and transforming spaces to showcase their best features. She is married to an architect and immersed in the world of design and interiors. Clare has long wanted to work in the homestaging sector, having renovated, staged and sold homes in the past. Prior to joining Distinctive Homestaging, Clare worked in the marketing, branding and publishing sectors more than 15 years. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and education from the University of Johannesburg, as well as a post-graduate diploma in marketing strategy and brand management. She enjoys the planning and management of the Distinctive Homestaging team's schedule, as well as joining the team on site whenever she can.
Angela has a love of textile design and a passion for mid- century furniture. She and her husband have renovated, bought and sold a number of properties over the years, which has given her a good understanding of the buying and selling process. Angela has worked in a number of industries, including the travel sector, and she has experience in commercial and residential property styling. She has an adventurous nature and enjoys exploring exotic destinations, and being exposed to diverse cultures, architecture and cuisines. Angela is friendly and approachable and known for her positive attitude. She has been working with the Distinctive team for three years and she takes great delight in transforming each property into a beautiful, desirable home.
